NEMA DID NOT RESPOND, SAYS LUKWAGO

Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has criticized businessman Hamis Kiggundu and certain government officials for negligence following Monday’s floods in Nakivubo. He blamed the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) for failing to enforce environmental regulations. Lukwago revealed he had warned about illegal land grabs in the area and wrote to NEMA regarding Kiggundu's redevelopment project, but received no response.
